Pirate Land Day Tour

A full day on Banderas Bay aboard the Marigalante II galleon: breakfast at sea, a pirate show, a long stop at the beach, and a party on the way home.

Pirate Land is the daytime sailing of the Puerto Vallarta pirate ship. You check in at 8:30 AM, sail at about 9:30 AM, and are back at the dock at about 4:00 PM. It is the one to pick if you want time in the water and on the sand, and it is built around families: there is a children’s contest in the morning and treasure hunts on the beach, with contests for the adults on the way back.

Looking for the evening show? The night tour is a different experience — a dinner cruise with the full pirate show and fireworks. See Pirates of the Bay, the night tour or compare day and night.

On board

Breakfast is served shortly after check-in, with a choice of a Mexican or American breakfast. Once the ship is under way the crew runs welcome activities, and the pirate show starts mid-morning. Lunch is served too, with fish, chicken, meat and vegetarian options; your adult package decides the menu and the bar. See the day tour menu and ticket packages.

The beach stop

You are ashore for about two hours, from roughly 11:45 AM until boarding at 1:45 PM. The operator lists snorkeling (a mask is included; a snorkel tube is an extra charge, paid on the boat), kayaks, banana boat rides, beach activities and treasure hunts for the children. The operator’s own FAQ names the beach as Majahuitas.

Who it suits

  • Families: children 4–11 travel on a child ticket and children 3 and under are free. See the pirate ship with kids.
  • Anyone who wants swimming and snorkeling rather than a night out.
  • Groups that do not drink: there are alcohol-free packages. See alcohol-free tickets.

If you would rather have dinner, a full show and fireworks, the evening sailing is the other choice: compare them in day tour vs night tour.

Before you go

Both tours leave from the Puerto Vallarta Maritime Terminal; see departure location for the address and check-in point. For the day tour, pack a swimsuit, towel, biodegradable sunscreen, a hat and sandals, and bring official photo ID. The full list is in what to bring.
