Booking Terms & Cancellation Policy

The terms you accept when you book, written plainly so there are no surprises.

How a booking is made

Choosing a tour, package, date and party size and paying online creates a reservation request, not a confirmed seat. We then verify your date and email you a confirmation number within an hour during our hours (Monday to Saturday, 7 am – 7:45 pm Puerto Vallarta time), or first thing the next morning we are open.

Your booking is confirmed only once you have that email and confirmation number. Until then nothing is held for you.

If we cannot confirm your date

You choose: an alternative date, or a full refund. You are never left holding a booking we cannot fulfill, and you are never charged for a seat you did not get.

Cancellations and refunds

Once purchased, tickets are non-refundable and cannot be cancelled, for any reason, including not arriving. The one exception is a date we cannot confirm, above. We will, however, do what we can to find you an alternative date.

Changing your date or tour

You may request a new date, or a switch between the day and night tours. It depends on availability and on the operator’s approval, and it is not guaranteed, so ask as early as you can. Prices are the same for both tours and every date, so there is nothing extra to pay for a change we can make. The day and night menus are different, so meals chosen for one tour go back to “decide on board” if you switch.

Weather and port closures

If the operator cancels a sailing, for weather, a port closure or any other reason, we contact you to rebook or refund you in full, your choice. A cancellation by the operator is not a cancellation by you, and the no-refund policy above does not apply to it.

On the day tour, going ashore at Majahuitas Beach and the beach activities depend on the weather and on Port Authority rules, and can be suspended on the day without notice for safety. The tour still sails when that happens, and a suspended beach landing is not a cancelled tour.

Check-in and departures

Both tours leave from the Puerto Vallarta Maritime Terminal. Check in at the Pirate Boutique by 8:30 AM for the day tour or 5:00 PM for the night tour. The operator’s times may vary by about 15 minutes, and the ship does not wait: arriving late is treated as not arriving and is not refundable. Address and directions.

Fees collected at the pier

A port fee of MXN 38 (about $2 USD) per person is collected by the operator at the pier. It is separate from what you pay us and is not included in your total. Tips and optional extras on board, such as a snorkel tube on the day tour, are also paid there.

Ages and ID

Guests 12 and over pay an adult price. Children 4–11 pay the child price. Infants 0–3 travel free but must be included in the booking so the operator has an accurate headcount. A ticket booked in the wrong age band may need to be corrected at check-in. Every adult should bring official photo ID.

Meals

Choosing meals when you book is optional; you can decide on board instead. Each ticket includes the dishes listed for it on the menu. The menu is the operator’s and can change. Tell us about allergies or dietary needs in your booking notes and we will pass them on.

Who you are buying from

This is an independent affiliate and travel-agent booking site participating in the Pirate Ship Vallarta Affiliate Program. Your payment is taken by us, and your seats are reserved with the operator on your behalf.

Questions before you book
